Project Description

Developing rooftop rainwater harvesting models at 100 locations in hilltop villages of East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya adopting participatory approach.

Study the prospects of providing crop lifesaving supplemental irrigation to vegetable crops like chilies, tomato, cucumber etc. and extent of production & economic gains.

Capacity building of beneficiary farmers and hand holding for more crop with every drop of water.

Community participation and self-supporting system for sustainable management for water bodies covered by the programme.

Enhanced agriculture/ horticulture productivity Effective use of water reservoirs for agriculture / horticulture activities by using drip/ micro sprinklers Impart skill among communities for sustainable and optimal use of water.
