Description

The study was aimed at assessment of potential for different horticultural crops for their exportability andassessment of exportable quantity. Various marketfunctionaries along with individual farmers from theregion were surveyed.

  • Identification of horticultural items produced in North-East India which has potential for trade in overseas market (Pineapple, Jackfruit, Litchi, Passion Fruit, Ginger, Garlic, Turmeric, Cauliflower, Cucumber & Radish).
  • Assessment of volume of production of selected produce in North East India viz a viz India's total production of the same.
  • Assessment of exportable quantity of select produce.
  • Assessment of volume of production & consumption of selected produce in identified potential destination.
  • Identification of leading supplier of selected produce in the leading import markets.
  • Monthly/ quarterly price fluctuation in the potential destination market.
  • Assessment of regulatory regime for import of selected commodities in the potential destination and status of preferential trade agreements.
  • Assessment of current and likely import trend in import of select commodity in the potential destination.
