Project Description

Under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojana (PMKSY), all the states were required to prepare State Irrigation Plan (at State Level) and District Irrigation Plan (at district level). TRUAGRICO prepared District Irrigation Plans as well as U.T. Irrigation Plan for Daman & Diu. Apart from this, TRUAGRICO was consultant to 13 districts of Bihar and Administration of U.T. of Dadra & Nagar Haveli in preparation of DIP.

Department wise action plan was prepared as per the template of PMKSY. The report provided a general introduction to the district, agri & allied sectors performance and also indicated irrigated & rainfed area in the district. The chapters of report also reflected light on existing water availability (Surface & Ground). A separate chapter was dedicated to assess and compile the water user sectors such as domestic use, agri usage, livestock, industry, power plant. Water allocation and future demand for each sector was also assessed. In the last chapter, department wise and component wise plan was prepared to augment the water availability, channelize the existing water and adoption of better practices for minimizing use of water in agriculture.
