Project Description

The Concept Note of the project was prepared as per the template provided by Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India under National Adaptation Fund for Climate Change (NAFCC). Forest Department, Government of Manipur, assigned the task of preparation of Concept Note to TRUAGRICO which was successfully completed well before stipulated time-frame.

The project was aimed to increase the forest cover in the state. Treatment of watershed was also given due consideration in the report. The report emphasized the need for a better land use planning and the ways eco-tourism can be promoted in the state. Empowerment of forest dependent communities to enhance their adaptive capacity was the ultimate goal of the project. The activities in the project included literature review, discussion with stakeholders, survey of study area and preparation of baseline data for post-implementation comparisons.
